All I want is a room somewhere
Finally somebody cleared all the crap out of Ellery's room (ME), and she now has a room that is only a nursery, instead of a nursery/guestroom/office/storage space. Only took 13 months. Exciting photo footage below.

Tulips
Since I clearly learned nothing from the zoo parking disaster of Saturday, I boldly suggested to Elise that we take the girls to Woodburn for the Tulip Fest. On a Sunday,a sunny Sunday, the first Sunday that the tulips have been in bloom. 2 hours and several very long stop-and-go lines later we made it to the tulip farm. And here is why Elise and I are friends. We walked one row of tulips, took a picture of each of the moms/babes, and headed off to the food tents. Yes! Elise stood in line with a celeb (ahem...Felicity...), we munched on some burritos and hit the road. It was a good girl road trip, despite a certain baby hollered most of the way back. (it wasn't Lily, who was sweetly snuggling with her lovey, Lulu. Well, she was either snuggling with Lulu or hiding her ears and face from the screaming banshee next to her.)
I borrowed this from Lily's blog.

Weekend Warriors
It's Saturday, so we went to the zoo. Who else would think to go to the zoo on a sunny Saturday morning? Not a single parking spot to be had. No worries- we ditched the car, grabbed the Max and were face-to-face with the sea lions in no time. It also happened to be Packy the Elephant's 47th birthday, so we got to visit with him, peek at his special birthday cake (banana cake with carrots and celery stalks stuck in the top), and enjoy live music while we ate lunch and contemplated the fact that we are "those" people now. The Saturday-morning-at-the-zoo-people. I believe they are also called parents.
The zoo was very entertaining though- as are most things with the Peanut.

Ellery also got to check out her favorite species, the Big Kid

Easter
Big weekend - BIG. Easter egg hunt. Easter brunch. Bunny cake. Bunny suit. Yes, bunny suit.
We went to the Easter egg hunt in our hood with Aunt Lauren and Ruby. Ell successfully found an egg, we posed for a photo, placed the egg back for an older kid to find and we were on our way. How many years can we get away with that?
Lauren and I made an attempt to document the girls first Easter together- after the egg hunt we posed them in their "Easter dresses" (Ell chose vintage):

Lauren made everyone watch the video below about 25 times at brunch today.
**important disclaimer - Ruby was NOT HARMED in the making of this video**
Ell and Myla at Easter brunch at Lauren's - it's still very exciting that they can actually play together, now that Myla is all grown up and sitting on her own. Another reminder of how time flies.

Then the bunny suit came out. These will definitely feature prominently in Ell's senior yearbook ad.
2 bunnies.

And because still photos weren't embarrassing enough...

sunny day! sunny day!
The sun came out!! Really the winter here has been great- awesome snow in December, lots of sunny days in February, but then quite a few rainy days in March. So when the sun came out last weekend and the temperature shot up this city got pretty damn excited. We got as much vitamin D as we could, as the ten day forecast looks pretty dismal. Cutie 1

Now back to the rain - at least Ell is ready with her sweet new raincoat from Aunt Colette.
