MacLov'n

I hope you are sitting down, because the combined power of the sweetness that is Ellery Love and Ruby MacKenzie is going to knock your socks off. If there is something cuter than this I don't want to know about it.

Adventures of Mom and Ell

Berry Picking

We had a girls adventure day yesterday; Ell and I packed into the car and went berry picking at a farm west of the city, the Peachy Pig farm. Ellery alternated from eating the berries as fast as I could put them in the bucket to chasing the sprinklers through the blueberry bushes. As seen below, she did not make the best berry picker, as she does not really distinguish between fat juicy berries and hard yucky green ones. But she was a good sport, and was rewarded with several roosters crows, a big "neigh!" from the horse, and a visit to the pig house to see all the piglets at lunch (and probably soon to BE lunch, poor things).

Summer Vacation, part 2

Some extremely random photos from Fla, NYC and NJ are in a slideshow to the left. Things accomplished on our trip:

1. Gained a sister-in-law (We love you Egg!)
2. Best Wedding Ever, part 3. The Family Tradition continues.
3. Enjoyed a Florida thunderstorm.
4. Fell in love with central A/C all over again.
5. Watched our daughter turn brown no matter how much sunscreen was applied.
6. Introduced Anne to Lavallette
7. Consumed many doughnuts, twist cones and white pizza.
8. Enjoyed a NJ thunderstorm.
9. Enjoyed power going out in Seaside Heights - and no one was mugged!
10. Started a family gang. 5 White, represent.

And Ellery took her first steps for me in the Newark Airport. (she walked for the cousins and aunts and uncles several days before). She also called everything "daddy" once Scott left. No more "kitty, doggie, that"- it was just "daddy", "daddy", "daddy".

From Chapel Hill to Ponte Vedra to NYC to Lavallette, we had a blast. Homesick already. Except for the humidity.

Summer Vacation, part 1

Ellery and her dad had their first flight together when they visited Chapel Hill a few weeks ago. I have always had the honor of flying with Ell, but was happy to hand that over to Scott for the trip East. They had a great time with Andrew and Judy, Scott got to hang out with the Raleigh crew and visit all our favorite spots in Chapel Hill (namely the Sandwhich Shop and Crooks Corner). I was so sad I didn't get to go- I love drinking coffee on the back porch, nibbling on Judy's pound cake and just relaxing with a magazine at their house. Not to mention the shopping trip Judy and I always manage to fit in- hopefully next summer we will be able to hit all our East coast stops together, work be damned!

Some photos are below . . .I am hoping Drew has more for us, as these are all I found on Scott's camera...
